Happy Chinese New Year Day 8 - 15

Day 8
Lunch and dinner with my family as my elder brother is flying off to China again for work. Back to normal with my mummy.

Day 9
Working as usual.

Day 10
Followed my Laogong to purchase his living room light as it was spoilt during the spring cleaning by his mummy. And as the made-to-measure men shirts shop is right beside the selling of the light, we went to make a tuxedo white shirt and a normal black shirt for our wedding. He will need it by 19 March 2010 for our wedding shoots. Stayed tune for our studio and outdoor photos.

Day 11
I'm on medical leave but I went back to office half day to clear some work before going back home to rest. So tired.

Day 12
Working as usual

Day 13
I had my company chinese new year celebration in office. Actually we were supposed to start at 3.30pm but my bosses were held up by a meeting with the Fengshui master. We are now in a situation whereby we either have to move office or to expand our office as our lease is dueling soon. I hope we don't have to move as I love where my office is located right now, International Plaza.
Let's say '3x Huat' during our toasting of the YuSheng, my bosses favourite word. Even the non-chinese also enjoyed the process. We ordered our buffet lunch cum dinner from Old Chang Kee cathering services. The portion was big and the food was delicious unexpectedly. So don't always think that Old Chang Kee only served finger food. Great, the event runs smoothly.

'Yusheng' after toasting done by my office ladies

After the event, I met ShengYi and Winson for a drink (non-alcohol). Been some time since we last met. Hang around till 12 plus then took cab home.

Day 14
Haha, I went to the NATAS fair but too bad I didn't managed to book my honeymoon as the itinerary for November 2010 is not out yet. So I've to wait for the next fair to enjoy the discount. Met AhDe, XiaoTong and Cherilyn to make spectacles and I made one for myself too. I bought a retro plastic matte spectacles. I shall post it up once I gotten it. Next we went to Hougang de NTUC Xtra to purchase our steamboat food. It was a last minute decision. As usual, we left over alot of food. Thanks to Weihong who bought the YuSheng to Laogong's home.

Day 15
Last day of Chinese New Year. No celebration with my family. So we planned to go Fullerton Square to take pictures of the sculptures that I saw on the newspaper. Next we went to Marina Barage to fly kite. So many people pinicing there and flying kite. This is my first time flying a kite with my Laogong but I'm more experience than him as I flied twice before when I was young. I hope I wont get tanned. I realised that actually it is quite romantic to fly a kite together with someone you love and it is a money saving activity.

Happy Chinese New Year Day 1 - 7

It's been quite some time that I have not update you people as I'm always so busy.
Before Chinese New Year, I'm busy preparing to welcome the year of Tiger; spring cleaning my room, shopping for new clothes, marketing with mummy and so on.
And now, I'm busy enjoying my 15 days of Chinese New Year.

Day 1
Actually my family planned not to go out to 拜年 but we changed our decision. Left home around 11am and came back with 'AngBaos' and MacDonald lunch at 1pm. Within the 2 hours, we only visited two of my father's side relatives. Then I slacked at home till evening before I went over to my neighbour's house for dinner and gamble, blackjack. Finally, Laogong came to fetch me out for Valentine Day dinner and movie with AhDe, XiaoTing, Jonathon and his girlfriend.

They are my nephews, do they look alike?

Day 2
It's my turn to visit my Laogong's families, so I went to his AhYi's home. They also had a mini gathering so we stayed there till evening before proceeding to ZhiMing's home. I played mahjong and had dinner there. At 9pm, we reached 春到河畔 for walk walk and photo taking. To my disappointment, this year decoration was plain so we didn't take any pictures. And since it's only 12 midnight, they came to my home to continue our gambling session. We ended at 3am.

Day 3
My mummy invited her relatives to my home for a little gathering and big gambling. And it's day 3 without enough rest and my room, I'm already super tired. I'm too weak to entertain the guests. So I stayed in my parents' room to play Monopoly with AhDe, XiaoTing and Laogong. And the winner is Miss XiaoTing. Haha, too bad it's not real money.

Day 4
Business reopen and I've to report to work. I'm like half-dead, dragging myself to work. Luckily it's not very busy as some of my clients are still having their holidays. During our lunchtime, my boss invited the lion dance troupe to perform as it symbolises good luck and fortune to the business. And not forgetting to thank you my boss for the 开工红包.
After work, I meet my Laogong and we went to Yishun to 补运. Around 10.15pm, we left and meet ShaoQun & girlfriend at Loyang to 拜拜. Since we had not have our dinner, we went Changi Airport T3 de Kopitiam for dinner and coffee at YaKun. We were there till 12 plus, as if the next day, we are not working. How I wish so.

Day 5
Quarrelled with mummy. She said I selfish. So what if I'm selfish after all I chose that room to be mine. And why should I borrow her my comb, my shoes, my hairband to her? Though she is a guest but it's so unfair.

Day 6
Have you been to a chalet with 4 bedrooms with a living room, a kitchen and a porch for BBQ?Make a guess where is it? Yes i did, I was there with Cherilyn after my work and Laogong joined us later in the night. We played mahjong till 4am before going home to sleep.
The answer is Aloha Loyang.

Day 7
It is everyone birthday today. Happy Birthday! Are you celebrating it with your family to 'Lou Hei'?
Not for me as I went to Melody's birthday party in the afternoon. And we played; blackjack, monopoly and mahjong throughout the night. During the monopoly game, I learn integrity as my core value from a little girl (AhDe's cousin). So funny and cute, in the world of her own. I also took pictures with the balloons as if I'm the one who is celebrating my 21st birthday. Conclusion of the event, it was fun though my Laogong left me there for work.

My scandal and me celebrating my imaginary 21st birthday,
that was like 2 years ago.

My Sweet Dream

Actually I'm supposed to visit my grandma at the temple on Saturday morning but I'm tired so I went back to bed. And there goes my dream ... ... ...

Dreaming Time
It was the last day of the funeral, all of my family members were at the wake. But I don't know why my grandma was not lying in the coffin instead she was lying on an automated bed just like those used in the hospital. She was lied slightly off to the end of the bed so my friend assist to carry her back to the right position. Suddenly, the bed was lifted to the sitting position so we thought we had pressed on the button accidentally. Without further hesitation, we faster pressed the button to put the bed at the resting position. And my friend left me at her bed side.

My face was not facing my grandma for a moment but when I turned back to look at her, her hand was at the side of her face. Then she opened her eyes so though she was not dead. Immediately, I called out to all my family members. Everyone greeted her and she acknowledged. I held her hand tightly and could described exactly that her hand was warm. And my dream ended.

When I was awake, I felt that though the dream was scary but the warmth of her hand was so real. It's like the way she held my hand before her death when I visited her. I won't forget the feeling.

Ah Ma, you will be remembered forever in my heart. I love you!

Management Styles

I'm cracking my brain right now to do a 7 pages questionnaire given by my boss. Luckily my dictionary is accompanying me, if not I will suffer as my English sucks. There are altogether 4 sections and all the questions look similar. Help, help!!

Introduction
The objective of this exercise is to have a better understanding of how best to manage all of you. As mangers or supervisors, I trust that all of you understand that it's not an easy job. Each of you is an individual, thinks differently and has certain set of values and principles for work and to live your life. We as managers are the same.
In order for us to know what tick and what not, I will like all of you to seriously consider these questions before answering. Do be honest and provide the closest answers to what you feel inside. This way, we can then know and understand how best to communicate and interact with you better.

Section
1. Managerial & leadership styles
2. Rewards & recognition
3. Correction & discipline
4. You & your communication styles

My Legs Are Aching

Chinese New Year is around the corner, every family is busy preparing for the festival but not my family. Though no celebration for us but I went Chinatown yesterday evening to walk walk and get the feel of it. I think I won't go there only once. Just like the previous years, I will be there with different group of friends. This year I started off with my Laogong, AhDe and XiaoTing. Maybe I was there late afternoon therefore not too crowded. I also went there to see see look look for my wedding stuffs. I think it's time to do some preparation le, had been lazy to think about it.

How long have you not been to the zoo? "Zoo" reminds me of a song. We're going to the zoo zoo zoo, how about you you you.. You can come too too too, we're going to the zoo zoo zoo..

And yes, I went to the zoo before Chinatown. We didn't visit all the animals as we were there six months ago. Must be thinking why we kept going to the zoo. It's because it's free entry up to 4 pax, company's pass.

It's a fruitful Sunday but I'm burnt and my legs are aching.

Don't irritate my pipi, Otter!

Goodbye Grandma

Ever since my grandma moved to stay with my cousin, my mum had been visiting her everyday and took turn to look after her during the night time. On Sunday morning, 10 January 2010, while I'm still sleeping soundly on my bed, I received a call from my mum. She said that my grandma passed away on 7.15am. I'm emotionally sad but I stayed calm. I informed my brothers and my neighbours. Without further hesitation, I rushed down to pay my last visit before my grandma was sent for her final make-up.

I was there throughout for the whole preparation and ceremony. Everyone packed their feelings and prepared the best for my grandma. My grandma was worried that her funeral wake is not grand enough but my uncles and aunties tried to fulfill her final wishes. They bought her a nice coffin, ordering enough food and beverages and bands to play music on the final day. And most importantly a proper praying ceremony for her with most of her children, grand children, great grand children attending. I think it is not a matter of having a grand funeral wake for her, her "grand" means to have her total of 100 children, grand children, great grand children, great great grand children sending her off. But too bad, not everyone is able to see her off.

I didn't cried because I know it is ageing problem. Nature takes its place, people will get old and will leave the world someday. I may look emotionally stable however on the last day of the funeral, I kept going to my grandma to see her. I know this is my last chance. The moment the mortician shut the lid of the coffin, my tears rolled down my cheeks. Everyone stayed silent throughout till we reached Mandai crematorium. I hate to go through the process when your beloved ones being sent to cremate. Everyone burst out, crying out loud, including myself.

It had been 10 days after her death. Everything is back to normal. I should packed my feelings and work harder for the years ahead. She will be blessings each and every of us. 阿弥陀佛!

Preparation for 龍德堂大日子

It's 2+am now, Laogong and me are still at AhDe's room. Guess what we are doing, haha. The guys (Laogong and AhDe) are preparing the auction item while the girls (XiaoTing and me) are doing the template and role for the day of the auction. This is just a small portion of the whole event. Conclusion is organising an event is tedious and tiring but I enjoy it. It's so fun.

Almost done. Yippy, going home soon. I need my bed now. Tomorrow, a long day to go.
